The 12th Fastest Runner in Indiana

Hello, all!
It's amg here, yes that's right. I'm a first time blogger here on the all famous Galbreath Post, so don't criticize too much.

Well, my beautiful and fabulous wife recently ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon (13.1 miles) on Saturday, May 2. Runners came from across the country and around the world to participate. It is currently the fifth largest running event in America!

And yes, she ran the whole thing! I say that because a lot of people can't do it and end up walking. She trained for at least eight months, running in all sorts of weather conditions. She probably went through about fifteen pairs of running shoes. I couldn't believe how hard she trained. In fact, many people that live in our neighborhood would sit out on their porches and cheer her on everyday as she would fly by them with her ipod blasting her customized running playlist of music.

As many of you may not know, her also fabulous mother, Karan Kaluzynski, used to be a tri-athlete. Karan even qualified for the Ironman! In case you don't know what that is, it's like the hardest race in the world! We have a picture on our refrigerator of Karan finishing a race back in the 70's and little Leslie standing by her crying tears of joy.

Now the torch has been passed from mother to daughter. That's one of the many reasons why this race was so special. I even got to witness a very emotional moment between mother and daughter after Leslie crossed the finish line. It was like a, "Mom, I did it!" moment. Priceless.

I am so proud of my wife! She is a truly dedicated runner. It makes me so happy to see her sinking that same level of dedication into running that she gives to her career. When you get a chance, congratulate her on this unbelievable accomplishment. She plans to run in many more races to come.

Leslie, you go girl!

Couldn't let this one pass...I am so proud of my daughter. Leslie trained so fervently for this great race. I visualized and internalized what she must be feeling as she moved along in the race. It's a difficult distance, and to run the entire race is a huge accomplishment. We have exchanged positions now. I wait for her to finish, and she has become my hero. She knows what a sense of empowerment running can bring.May the wind always be at your back...I love you...mom

I am still so unbelievably amazed and in awe of Leslie's running. Mind you, I didn't doubt that she could do it, because she is such a driven and determined individual and once she puts her mind to something, that's it. I suspect much of that comes from her fabulous Mama K! I am so proud of you Elle, proud to be your friend and proud to have been witness to the very beginning of your training, your triumphant run in the mini and your future accomplishments, whatever those may be. You are an inspiration. xoxo

AMG - well done on the blog post!
