Another lovely Christmas

Hello, all! Just a quick post to say happy three days after Christmas! We had a lovely holiday with our family and are enjoying some much needed time off. Well, I'm back to work tomorrow due to a very bizarre holiday schedule this year, but what can you do?

We spent a fabulous Christmas Eve-ning with the Kaluzynski fam, and as usual, Mom and Dad were far too generous. After some delicious wine, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at our new favorite restaurant, the Stone Creek Dining Company.

On Christmas day, we traveled first to Muncie to enjoy my mother's famous Christmas morning pecan rolls, and then off to Lansing we went. We spent a great day with the Dean family at Grandma and Grandpa Dean's house. Due to lack of dogsitter availability, we trekked home that evening. All in all, a spectacular day.

We missed Michael, Ginny, Andy and Stacy and the ladies this year. Hopefully we can all be together next year.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

My husband has turned our home into a holiday extravaganza! We have the most beautiful tree this year, thanks to Ronnie G, and the outside lights, well.. They put the rest of the neighborhood's to shame, I have to say. It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner again. Am I getting old or what? I hope everyone is having a super holiday season so far.

In other news, we're very excited at the prospect of Andy and Stacy and the ladies considering Indianapolis as their next home. Andy may be coming in for a visit this weekend, and we hope to show him all the wonderful things Indianapolis has in store. Keeping our fingers crossed...

Thanksgiving Fun

I don't know about y'all, but I cannot believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone. Ronnie G and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We spent Thanksgiving day in Muncie with the Kaluzynski family and ate much too much (thanks Mom for a fabulous dinner - I'm still eating the pie!). Michael was able to come home for the holiday, which was great. I've been lucky to see my little bro two weekends in a row, which was great. I miss him so much. Aaron had to work on Friday (suck), so I lunched with my BFF Carie at Ruby Tuesdays (much disgruntled still about lack of Asian dumplings but thrilled with the RT cosmopolitan) and took in Twilight yet again. Yes folks, that's number three. I'm officially crazy. We headed out for Flint-town that evening and made our way North. We stopped for a wonderful Italian dinner and good wine in Ft. Wayne - can't remember the name of the place but it was great - and made it to Flint around 10pm. It was great to see Mother-In-Law and Mozart. On Saturday, we attended the annual Galbreath family reunion. Since Ken's passing in 2007, these gatherings just aren't the same and are always bittersweet.

We wish Andy and Stacy and the lovely little ladies could have joined us - you all were missed! We hope to see you soon.

It was a wonderful family weekend - Aaron and I are so thankful for our amazing families. We cherish every minute we get to spend with each one of you. As I was posting this, I realized that I took zero pictures, which is just stupid. I shall do better at Christmas

Twilight Fantasticness

This past weekend, Shelley (Blue) and I traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for the Twilight Lexicon's 'Twilight' movie release party. We were graciously invited by the owners of the Twilight Lexicon (Alphie and Pel - thanks ladies!) to attend the weekend's events. We felt like VIPs! After checking out the midnight premier on Thursday night with Aaron and Doug, we got up early on Friday and headed south with Australian Lee as our guide. Thanks Australian Lee, you're fabulous too. We had a blast on the drive, which for those of you who know me and my hatred for driving anywhere that is further than two hours away, is quite a significant fact. We laughed our heads off during the drive, and even took some questionable photos of downtown Louisville - images to follow.

Thanks to Mr. Blue, we stayed at the new (and quite fabulous) Aloft hotel in Cool Springs, very nice. Thanks Doug! Friday evening, we hooked up with the book club ladies and spent the evening on the General Jackson riverboat, where we were entertained by tranny Tina Turner, a not so Elton John and scary Elvis. Tranny Tina rocked the house. Amazing legs ;-)

After a nightcap in our hotel bar, Blue and I finally turned in to get some rest for the big day - we were both running on about 4 hours of sleep after midnight show.

Saturday was nuts! SOOOOOO many people, and so many people fighting to get a word in with Alphie and Pel - I swear, it was like being with the stars of the movie. For those of you not familiar with the Lexicon, this is the site that Alphie and Pel (screennames by the way) started for Stephenie Meyer when she first started out. The three of them are good friends, so needless to say, we were honored to be their guests. We saw the movie again, and liked it even better the second time. Didn't feel nearly as rushed (or exhausted).

While Blue hung with the ladies on Saturday, I took a drive into downtown Nashville to see my brother, Michael. We met up with his lovely girlfriend, Ginny and two of his friends. Went to the Boundry - my favorite hot spot in Nash. Loved it!

The only casualties of the weekend were both eyeglass related. My sunnies snapped in half in my hands - evidently I have vampire-like strength. And, Blue's glasses, well, they've done gone missin'.

Sunday, we trudged home. Exhausted and ready for some sleep. Exhaustedness aside, we still managed to laugh our heads off all the way home. It was a great girls weekend with my BFF, and a great time was had by all.
